STOP TB PARTNERSHIP, TAJIKISTAN
The ‘Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan’ (STBPT) was established on July 30, 2014 by 76 people with tuberculosis (TB), people formerly with TB, their relatives and representatives of the organizations involved in the fight against TB, Mass Media from all areas of Tajikistan as a platform to contribute to preventing the spread of tuberculosis in the country as well as ensuring care and support to people, families and communities affected by TB. As of April 10, 2018 with 6 (six) NGOs as co-founders, the partnership was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan as Association ‘Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan’.
The ‘Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan’ brings together actors from a variety of different sectors of society across the country on a common platform towards supporting and strengthening TB prevention, treatment and care efforts. Partners are comprised of (but not limited to) the private sector, civil society, and non-traditional actors such as VIPs, celebrities, journalists, TB champions, etc. All partners contribute from their core competencies, and collectively catalyze an innovative approach to end TB in Tajikistan.
STBPT vision: Tajikistan free of TB
STBPT goal: Reduce the level of the spread of TB, reduced the restrictions related to tuberculosis and human immunodeficiency virus/ TB (HIV/TB), and prevent drug-resistant TB in the country.
STBPT objectives:
- Convene and represent civil society and communities and carry out advocacy activities;
- Bridge communities with high level authorities, raising issues to the national level;
Help as a supportive platform to NTP and as a reference group for the National Coordination Committee and MPs/national TB Caucus, supporting bottom-up and organized engagement of civil society;
- Contribute to the revolutionizing of the TB space to implement the Global Plan to End TB by 2030;
- Contribute to enhancing the integration of human and gender rights related to TB principles in the policies and programs of both state and non-state actors;
- Provide a dynamic platform for dialogue, progress review and agenda-setting, and for the development of public policies for ending TB;
- Lobby for mainstreaming TB in the work of relevant sectors at the national and subnational levels;
- Support the implementation of community-driven service delivery programs.
